About the Role

This Surgical Technologist position is a key member of the Atrium Health team, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain designated equipment and supplies for surgical cases, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of the sterile field, instrumentation, and equipment for surgical procedures, showcasing attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other healthcare professionals, providing timely and effective support to ensure the success of surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during surgical procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with the latest surgical technologies and techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a surgical tech program from a technical or military school preferred.
  • No prior experience necessary, but one year of experience in a related field is highly valued.
  • Must attain certification within 12 months of hire to remain in the position; military certification will be accepted.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, with a minimum of four 10-hour shifts per week.
