About the Opportunity

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a highly skilled Neurosurgeon to join our team at our Neurosciences Institute in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, including spine, peripheral nerve compression, brain and spinal tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, and trauma.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, taking into account the patient's medical history and current condition.
    • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories, including reviewing medical records and conducting physical examinations.
  • Communication
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear and concise medical information and fostering a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
    • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, accurately documenting medical procedures and services provided.
  • Diagnostic Procedures
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
    • Perform procedures as needed, including surgeries and other medical interventions.
    • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
    • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers, sharing expertise and knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, reviewing and analyzing clinical outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety, based on evidence-based best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance
    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, staying informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Continuous Learning
    • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices, participating in ongoing medical education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines, sharing expertise and knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
