Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
• Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, and insurance pre-certification and documentation
• Greet patients and/or family, perform routine pre-examination procedures, and assess and record objective and subjective data concerning presenting conditions
• Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation, secure messaging, and other tasks as assigned
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures, and prepare and clean the patient area, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments

Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire or transfer
• Medical Assistant (MA) certification or equivalent
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a physician clinic setting
• Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to move freely about the facility with or without an assisted device
• Ability to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description
• Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s)
