Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care to high-risk newborns and their families in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage care for high-risk newborns and their families under the supervision of an attending neonatologist and following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and stabilize high-risk infants and establish a care plan.
  • Assess patients by obtaining comprehensive perinatal history and performing physical assessments of body systems.
  • Identify and assist with high-risk deliveries and perform or order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for newborns with required physician supervision.
  • Document all aspects of patient care using established charting procedures.
  • Serve as a consultant on the care of chronically ill infants or those with complex medical problems.
  • Assist with family education and outreach education activities by teaching classes.
  • Assist in staff orientation and serve as a preceptor.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice provider in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body or Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Physician Assistants may require at least one year of direct experience in neonatology. BLS and NRP certifications are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's prepared Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with APRN licensure in GA.
  • Related experience preferred.
