About the Role

Transcat, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Calibration Technician II to join our team. As a Calibration Technician II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our calibration services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration work with minimal supervision, utilizing advanced measurement techniques and equipment.
  • Conduct independent research and development to improve calibration processes and techniques.
  • Coordinate and manage daily workloads, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain calibration standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Collaborate with laboratory support staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer on-site setting, with minimal direction.
  • Fulfill duties safely, adhering to company requirements and standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of commercial calibration experience, with a strong background in electronics or machining.
  • Associates degree from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including algebra, geometry, and statistics.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment.
  • Experience working within ISO 17025, with understanding of uncertainty contributions to the measurement process.
Work Environment

The Calibration Technician II will work in a fast-paced laboratory or customer on-site setting, with occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and will be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
