Job TitleSIC Maintenance Electrician/FT (GE WILM)
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team for an ongoing site in the Wilmington, NC area. This role offers a 4-10 schedule with OT eligibility and the opportunity to work in a controlled environment with access to a customer cafeteria and food services.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, layout, install, modify, and repair wiring, wire ways, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
- Effectively and efficiently construct new, modify, or repair wire ways, wiring, fixtures, or equipment consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit, using hand and power tools.
- Pull wiring through conduit, and splice and connect wiring using hand tools.
- Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand and power tools.
- Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
- Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using instruments.
- Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Perform installations, repairs, and modifications according to NEC, NFPA70e, local, and facility safety regulations.
- Perform frequent safety inspections of work area, equipment, and tools in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC's safety program.
- At least 3 years Electrician experience required and/or combination of completed apprenticeship/training program with experience.
- Obtain OSHA 10 card.
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
- Training in NFPA70e is preferred; if selected, SIC will enroll in next course.
- Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders.
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.
- Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
