Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder in Maryland Heights, MO. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools.
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • All other certification as required by location required.
