About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have three years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for candidates who have 2 or more years of experience as a CNM. They will also have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina and certification as a Nurse Midwife.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary health care services within the scope of the licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Maintain compliance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement
  • Obtain patient histories, perform complete or problem-focused exams, and order diagnostic tests and treatments
  • Evaluate findings to formulate an integrated plan of care and document care provided in the patient's medical record
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmaceuticals in compliance with the standards established in the Prescribing Authority by the NCBON
  • Provide guidance and counseling to patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, including ongoing review of care provided through regularly scheduled meetings with the supervising physician

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
