We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Kohler Ventures. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing data systems that handle the generation, ingestion, storage, transformation, and serving of data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data systems that meet the needs of our business
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of data, ensuring its availability and integrity throughout the stages of generation, ingestion, storage, transformation, and serving
  • Ensure the high quality and consistency of data through rigorous testing and validation
  • Continuously optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the data platform
  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information and comply with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in software design and development for Data Systems or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Availability to work outside of standard business hours if needed to be able to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data warehousing solutions
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical and management information clearly and concisely
