The Senior Design Engineer is a key member of our engineering team, responsible for performing design tasks independently and with ongoing supervision. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Apply technical knowledge to designs and ensure projects meet specifications.
- Collaboration and Communication: Share information with team members and stakeholders, and communicate challenges regarding scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Project Support: Work with designers and drafters to complete design packages, and support the preparation of simple and medium designs or small portions of larger projects.
- Leadership and Guidance: Lead the development of design packages for simple projects, and support complex projects, including moderate difficulty technical analyses.
- Industry Knowledge: Understand and apply appropriate industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Identify information to be communicated to clients and project stakeholders, and conduct communications in a professional and clear manner.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Skills: Strong work ethic, knowledge of Computer Aided Design or GIS Design, and proficiency in basic software programs such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
