Job Title: Computer Operator

We are seeking a skilled Computer Operator to join our team at The Midtown Group in Washington DC.

Job Summary:

The Computer Operator will be responsible for managing and operating computer systems, resolving hardware and software issues, and monitoring networked systems for security problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and operate computer systems, including drawing management and operations.
  2. Resolve hardware and software issues, including minor software to complex system issues.
  3. Monitor networked systems for security problems and investigate causes of any suspicious activity.
  4. Ensure personnel do not access the classified processing area without proper clearance.
  5. Perform game closing and IT draw operations, including verifying closing of lottery games and updating winning numbers.
  6. Process and balance internal control system financial reports against back-office system reports.
  7. Monitor ICS and BOS performance during data entry and report any anomalies.
  8. Update multistate lottery association and draw reporting systems with sales and winning numbers.
  9. Assist IT staff with providing basic computer and systems support to gaming systems vendor.
  10. Execute and monitor daily data warehousing program.
  11. Conduct preliminary IT inquiries and issue tracking for users.
  12. Maintain asset inventory for lottery IT department.
  13. Assist IT specialist in installing and configuring computer software and hardware.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer operating systems and network file systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and operating features of a personal computer.
  • General knowledge of file transfer protocol and virtual private networks.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in performing repetitive work.
  • Experience in IT environment on Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Knowledge necessary to diagnose and solve simple computer system problems.
  • Ability to effectively comprehend SOPs, reports, and other related materials.
