Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation protection and be able to produce high-quality films as needed. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Obtain all pertinent medical information from patients to identify age-specific needs.
• Perform radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
• Utilize proper radiation protection to protect patients from excessive radiation.
• Maintain x-ray rooms neatly and stocked for exams and at the end of the shift.
• Efficiently complete a typical day's work within scheduled shifts.
• Use the hospital information management system for patient demographics and other patient information.
• Communicate pertinent information and unfinished tasks to relief personnel.
• Comply with departmental plans to meet budget goals.
Requirements:
• ARRT or NMTCB or ASCP certification.
• California State license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
Working Conditions:
• Works under the supervision of the Supervisor and Staff Radiologist.
• Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment.
• Responsible for producing films as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Education: N/A.
• Experience: Will consider new graduates.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
• Takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
• Obtains all pertinent medical information from patients to identify age-specific needs.
• Performs radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
• Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patients from excessive radiation.
• Maintains x-ray rooms neatly and stocked for exams and at the end of the shift.
• Efficiently completes a typical day's work within scheduled shifts.
• Uses the hospital information management system for patient demographics and other patient information.
• Communicates pertinent information and unfinished tasks to relief personnel.
• Complies with departmental plans to meet budget goals.
• Completes procedures with high technical quality to produce high-quality recordings of the procedures.
• Communicates observations of patient condition changes to RN/MD.
• Provides a safe patient environment at all times.
• Stays with patients who may be in danger of falling and hurting themselves.
• Safely transports patients.
• Correctly identifies patients by use of arm bands.
• Demonstrates and maintains aseptic technique during procedures.
• Demonstrates cost-effectiveness by using judgment when opening and using supplies.
• Properly disposes of all sharps and biohazardous waste.
