Radiation Therapist

At Danbury Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our Radiation Therapy department. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, ensuring accurate positioning and treatment delivery using radiation therapy equipment.
• Design and facilitate daily treatment schedules, ordering and reviewing daily treatment charges.
• Monitor patient response to treatment, recognizing signs of complications and withholding treatment until physician consultation.
• Follow department quality control measures for treatment delivery, maintaining accurate records and adhering to established standards.
• Perform simulation procedures, constructing immobilization devices and documenting simulation information.
• Operate and maintain linear accelerators and simulator equipment, performing daily quality control warm-up procedures.
• Assist in follow-up clinic, patient exams, and receptionist duties, communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Practice continuing education and fulfill state and national compliance responsibilities.

• Associates Degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
• ARRT certification and CT State Licensure.
• Three years of experience in radiation therapy, with a minimum of three years preferred.
