We are seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic to join our team as a Custom Assembly Line Specialist in Kansas City, MO. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling highly engineered, custom-built mobile material handling machinery for rail-related markets.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations, adhering to product specifications and tolerances.
- Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble units, following standard work procedures and blueprints.
- Identify and repair units that fail tests or tolerance levels, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Assist less experienced team members with knowledge and expertise, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a custom build shop, preferably in the rail industry.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, 3D prints, and schematics.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools, measuring devices, and computers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee will be exposed to seasonal temperature variations and occasional manufacturing fumes or by-products.
