Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Design Engineer to play a critical role in launching new products and designing glass solutions for diverse transportation markets.
This position offers a unique opportunity to apply engineering skills in exciting industries such as powersports and bullet-resistant glazing. No specific glass experience is required as we provide comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop new glass products for various transportation markets.
- Provide tooling and process input to support manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Mentor and guide process engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design and process issues.
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in glass fabrication and glazing technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Desire to have individual flexibility and contribute to team success.
- Experience with CAD/CAM design and proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with industrial, manufacturing, or engineering principles and practices.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, including tooling and process optimization.
- Experience with quality control methods and root cause analysis.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing designs.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
