Support Worker for Children

Job Summary:

MercyFirst is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our START with Hope program, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and supervision to our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the daily activities of our youth, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Implement treatment team recommendations and maintain consistent daily routines in accordance with Agency policy and treatment plans.
  • Document clients' behaviors and activities, providing accurate and timely reports.
  • Transport clients to scheduled appointments and events, promoting independence and self-reliance.
  • Assist children in learning independent living skills, including basic hygiene, dress, and cooking.
  • Support children in completing homework assignments and promoting academic success.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of related experience working with children or youth.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to accurately document clients' activities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid driver's license is strongly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must successfully complete all required training and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.

Salary Range: $18/hour - $20/hour, with a hiring incentive of $ after 500 worked hours.
