Overview

Catholic Health Initiatives is committed to providing exceptional nursing care, and our Nurse Residency Program is designed to support newly licensed registered nurses (RNs) as they transition to practice in our Medical Surgical department. Through a comprehensive, evidence-based clinical orientation and ongoing education and support, we help our nurse residents develop the critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making skills, engagement, stress management capabilities, and leadership skills necessary to excel in their roles.

Our Virtually Integrated CareSM (VICSM) program is a transformational model of care delivery that seamlessly integrates a virtual nurse as part of the interprofessional team. Our virtual RNs support bedside staff with time-consuming care activities, such as charting, discharges, admissions, care coordination, and patient education, allowing our patients to experience an unparalleled quality of care.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse Resident in our Medical Surgical department, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with physicians and your nursing team to devise and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals, such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging.
  • Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
As a Nurse Resident, you will have access to:

Qualifications

We are offering a $25,000 Sign On Bonus and up to $10,000 in student loan repayment assistance to new hires who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program college or university.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing in the state where you live.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
