A Medical Assistant Vascular performs a variety of tasks to support the delivery of quality patient care in a vascular clinic setting. This role involves working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
As a Medical Assistant Vascular, you will be responsible for performing routine clerical and clinical tasks, including scheduling appointments, preparing examination rooms, and assisting with procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, and for communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, and using computer applications in the office setting.
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, inpatient and outpatient admissions, tests, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintain medical records and other information, and order and restock supplies as needed.
- Accurately document patient history, physical, and vital information into the medical record.
- Perform business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding to encounter forms, conducting pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitating timely billing.
- Perform clinical functions within acceptable standards of care, including prioritizing patient needs, recognizing and responding to emergency situations, and preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas.
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with an externship.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
