Senior Software Engineer, Back End

At Capital One, we're seeking a talented Back End Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering community, you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing new capabilities for our omni-channel communication engine.

As a Back End Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring we're reaching the right customers with the right channel at the right time. You'll collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement new capabilities for our omni-channel communication engine
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala or Python
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
