Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at South Arkansas Regional Hospital. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, such as non-invasive and invasive sonograms, for patients as ordered by physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, including abdominal and pelvic sonograms, as ordered by physicians.
  • Position patients and select appropriate transducers for optimal test results.
  • Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and make hard copy images as directed.
  • Reschedule tests if necessary due to difficulty from bowel gas or other factors.
  • Develop film using automatic film processing equipment or manually if necessary.
  • Assemble methods and all necessary information and film for radiologists.
  • Assist physicians in procedures such as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies.
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Effectively maintain supplies and facilitate ordering.
  • Keep work areas clean and alert supervisors to equipment malfunctions.
  • Attend in-service and other meetings as required.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, conferences, workshops, etc.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program approved by the American Medical Association.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
  • Certificate in Ultrasound or RDMS required/eligible.
