Thermal Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Engineer to join our team at ZT Systems. As a Thermal Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of thermal components and systems for our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop thermal components and systems using 3D CAD software and commercial CFD software.
  • Conduct thermal stress tests and troubleshoot thermal and airflow issues in new and existing product lines.
  • Work with the engineering team to optimize the thermal performance of servers using empirical data and bench test methods.
  • Interface with the Firmware team to implement fan speed control algorithms.
  • Support custom engineering projects that require hands-on ability to interconnect complex server systems.
  • Produce thermal reports from experimental data and testing/modeling experience.
  • Manage ECO (Engineering Change Order) process for and provide validation for design modifications.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with testing and/or simulation experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
  • Commercial CFD Software skills (FloTherm preferred).
  • 3D CAD Software skills (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to create automated test infrastructure through the use of programs such as LabVIEW and scripted languages such as Python.
