Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at JBS USA Holdings, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of skilled trade workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Maintain Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement effective preventive maintenance programs and procedures for plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain Production Equipment: Supervise and perform the repair of plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment to meet organization standards.
  • Supervise Maintenance Mechanics: Direct and supervise maintenance mechanics in charge of maintaining and repairing building utility systems, including electrical wiring and controls, heating, and ventilating systems.
  • Administer Training Programs: Develop and implement training programs to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair equipment programs and procedures.
  • Prepare Work Schedules: Prepare work schedules and work assignments for subordinates' maintenance mechanics to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Direct Workers: Direct workers engaged in major painting projects, performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Interpret and Enforce Company Policies: Interpret and enforce company policies and practices to employees, analyzing and resolving work problems or assisting employees in solving work problems.
  • Work on Construction Projects: Work on projects involving the construction of new buildings and facilities and the alteration or modification of existing ones.
  • Supervise Ground Maintenance: May direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse, and snow removal.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: The position requires a large amount of walking and stair climbing, with varying noise and temperature levels depending on the area of the plant.
  • Work Schedule: The employee will typically work 50-55 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work if necessary.
  • Heavy and Dangerous Machinery: The position involves working with heavy and dangerous machinery.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 to 3 years of maintenance-related experience is an asset, with 1-2 years of proven supervisory experience in the food industry being preferred.
  • Special Skills: Strong computer skills, written, verbal, analytical, and persuasive skills, leadership skills, food safety knowledge, and the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
Relationships
  • Internal Relationships: The position involves working with employees on the production line, maintenance employees, and plant management.
  • External Relationships: The position involves working with vendors and contractors.
