Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Coach II to lead our competitive swim team program at the Montclair YMCA. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and motivation to our swimmers, while promoting a safe and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned age group structured practices during allocated times
  • Track daily attendance and maintain open communication with parents
  • Attend invitationals and swim meets as assigned by the Director of Competitive Swimming
  • Assist in swim team social event planning and fundraising
  • Conduct warm up sessions for competitive events and maintain a safe environment
  • Attend staff meetings and training courses as scheduled
  • Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and best practices
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 21
  • 4 or more years' experience as a competitive swim team coach
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR), AED & Basic First Aid certification
  • Current YMCA or ARC Lifeguarding and the ARC Safety Training for Swim Coaches online certification
  • Ability to lift and pull equipment 50 pounds, and to lift a small to average size child
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a variety of environments
