About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to join our team at Lillington Health & Rehabilitation Center. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing a variety of social and recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and motivate residents to engage in social, physical, and cognitive activities, adapting activities to meet the needs and abilities of individual residents.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a range of social and recreational activities and programs for residents, including arts and crafts, games, and outings.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of activities and resident participation, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Transport residents to and from activities as needed, and assist with the setup and cleanup of activity spaces, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all participants.
  • Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to resident care, working collaboratively to meet the unique needs and preferences of each resident.
  • Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident, including responding to resident needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Creative and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in working with the elderly, and a passion for planning and delivering engaging activities.
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy or a related field is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the changing needs of residents and the organization.
