Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Hotel Zelos. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our hotel facilities, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning properly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Supervise and train maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Assign and delegate work orders and projects to maintenance staff
  • Inspect work and provide feedback to maintenance staff
  • Discuss and make suggestions regarding talent, challenges, and process improvements with the Area Hotel Manager and Area Director of Engineering
  • Act as an advisor to the Area Hotel Manager and Area Director of Engineering on matters related to engineering and maintenance
  • Perform department, office, business, and administrative duties as assigned
  • Train maintenance staff and provide guidance on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Carry a portable radio and stay in constant communication with the central base station
  • Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests
  • Maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, and accident-free manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction
  • Minimum four years of experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or building maintenance
  • Basic working knowledge in general plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, boilers, bathroom fixtures, and tiling and painting
  • Ability to read written communiques, LED read-outs, meters, and computer screens
  • Ability to pull levers and rotate knobs, work with arms raised above head, and handle and assemble small parts using basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, communicate both verbally and in writing, utilize analytical thought processes, understand verbal/written technical and mechanical instruction, and be highly organized
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with employees, guests, and contractors in writing, via telephone, and in person
  • Ability to lift 75lbs throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to crawl into and through small spaces, climb ladders, support and carry loads of 75lbs
  • May be required to drive
