Role Responsibilities

As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring software renewals and pinpointing opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
  • Maintaining and presenting current Software Asset Management principles that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Grasping essential contract and licensing terms, including audit clauses and license metrics.
  • Collaborating across departments, including IT, Procurement, and Business Partners, to oversee license management.
  • Leading enterprise-wide management of on-premises and SaaS software licenses utilizing the Snow Software asset management tool.
  • Governance and management of all aspects of the software asset lifecycle.
  • Providing insights into global software inventory and usage.
  • Overseeing third-party providers involved in the Software Asset Management program.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of SAM data, including the integration of contractual metadata into the management tool.
  • Improving software tracking and reporting processes, contributing to annual budget planning, and developing software control measures.
  • Responding to inquiries from end users and internal stakeholders regarding specific data.
  • Leading vendor software audits by collaborating with internal teams to gather and organize software asset data for informed decision-making.
  • Exhibiting excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 3 years of experience in leading IT/Software asset management programs and tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, terms, and metrics.
  • Experience with software contracts.
  • Familiarity with enterprise and engineering software tools and license metrics is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Snow Software asset management tool is a plus.
  • Experience in software compliance reporting and audits.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Big 4 firms in Software Asset Management.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems or Business Management.
  • Experience in IT, Financial, License, and Operational Audits.
  • Certification as a Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
