Senior Staff Accountant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger accounts, developing reporting tools, and producing/analyzing monthly financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools to support financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Participate in the annual budget process and provide financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Facilitate the inter-company accounting process between Maine Behavioral Healthcare and Maine Medical Center.
  • Provide backup support for the general accounting functions performed by the Controller.
  • Assume a lead role in the annual financial audits for MBH.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in an accounting capacity.
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, Grant Accounting and A133 audits.
