Position Overview

  • Performs comprehensive physical examinations, delivers treatment, and provides guidance to patients.
  • Authorized to prescribe medications under specific circumstances.
  • Requests and interprets diagnostic assessments such as x-rays, ECGs, and laboratory tests.
  • Formulates individualized care strategies.
  • Evaluates patients to collect pertinent health information.
  • Educates patients on treatment plans, developmental milestones, family planning, psychological concerns, and preventive health measures.
  • Analyzes results from diagnostic tests.
  • Establishes preliminary diagnoses and determines treatment pathways.
  • Documents patient medical histories and progress notes.
  • Conducts therapeutic interventions including injections, suturing, wound management, and infection control.
  • Prescribes therapies or medications with necessary approvals.
  • Conducts patient visits and assessments, updating medical records and providing feedback.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and a minimum of two years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program with four years of general medical experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution along with completion of a physician assistant training program of at least 24 months certified by ARC-PA, AND certification to practice as a Physician Assistant by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners or eligibility to obtain within a year, in addition to two years of relevant experience.
