Key Responsibilities
- Execute repairs as detailed in the repair order efficiently and in compliance with dealership standards.
- Conduct test drives and assess components and systems using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair various automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about additional services required and provide time estimates for repairs.
- Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Service Technician preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in Diagnostic, Electrical, Engine Repair, and Transmission Repair.
- Strong dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Proficient mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to use electronic diagnostic tools.
- Exceptional customer service skills and basic computer knowledge.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A collaborative team player.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Essential Duties
- Perform transmission repairs efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose malfunctions and disassemble transmission units for repair.
- Assess vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
- Notify the service advisor of any additional work required or if outlined repairs are unnecessary.
- Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary components.
- Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training sessions and stay updated on technical bulletins.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and manuals are accounted for.
- Adhere to safety regulations and report any safety concerns to management.
