About the Position

The Norwalk Transit District is looking for a Facilities Cleaner to join our team. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, including the Hub, Driver's Lounge, and shelters.

About the Job:

  • Clean and sanitize interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, floors, and windows.
  • Clear snow and ice from sidewalks and around buildings, and assist with building services.
  • Report any objects that seem out of place in facilities or work areas.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure good housekeeping habits in work areas to avoid injury to self or others.
  2. Immediately report any safety or security issues to supervisors or Manager of Safety and Security.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in maintenance or cleaning preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow directions, understand properties and safety requirements of working with cleaning chemicals.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) not required but recommended.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
