Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Class A CDL Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of food and related products across various routes while maintaining safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

About the Role

This role includes customer interaction, vehicle inspections, and managing delivery paperwork, all while promoting a positive company image. You will be the face of our company, building lasting relationships with customers and ensuring their products arrive at their destination on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 12+ months commercial driving experience.
  • A valid CDL A license.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new one.
