Key Responsibilities

Investigation Duties:
  • Conducts thorough investigations to evaluate coverage, ascertain liability, and assess the extent of damages.
  • Completes evaluations for bodily injury claims and provides recommendations for claims exceeding individual settlement authority.
  • Gathers pertinent information for decision-making, collaborating with claims committees as necessary.
  • Identifies the need for independent experts, including adjusters, medical examiners, and accident reconstruction specialists.
  • Evaluates actual damages related to claims and engages in negotiations for settlements.
  • Assesses potential subrogation opportunities and initiates recovery processes.
Administrative Competencies:
  • Reviews policy coverage and communicates with insured parties, claimants, and medical professionals to ascertain injuries resulting from incidents while establishing reserve requirements.
  • Assesses medical injury exposure within established guidelines, securing necessary authority for timely payments.
  • Maintains precise records and manages administrative tasks associated with claims processing and payments, documenting all relevant interactions and medical reports.
  • Updates computer logs with findings and intentions for claims management.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Keeps both internal and external stakeholders informed about claim status and related matters.
  • Responds promptly and appropriately to settlement requests.
  • Evaluates claims for potential fraudulent activity and collaborates with the Special Investigations Unit as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; a two-year degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in auto liability claims handling or at least one year in bodily injury claims is preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary adjuster licenses within the specified timeframe of employment.
  • Possesses knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Training in Excel and familiarity with the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exhibits strong customer service capabilities.
  • Demonstrates effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions on behalf of the organization.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
