At Christus Health, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality ultrasound services to our patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for operating medical ultrasound equipment, applying ultrasound technology to patients, and documenting procedural information in patient records. In addition, you will assist radiologists in performing invasive biopsy procedures and ensure that all procedures are accurately charged and billed.

Responsibilities
  • Operate medical ultrasound equipment and apply ultrasound technology to patients as ordered by doctors.
  • Document procedural information in patient records, including calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.
  • Assist radiologists in performing invasive biopsy procedures using ultrasound systems to pinpoint exact anatomical locations of diseased areas.
  • Ensure accurate charging and billing of all procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked ultrasound room, checking equipment and computer status for readiness and reporting any problems that could impact workflow.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in ultrasound technology and experience working with Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Education and Certifications

We require a graduate degree from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or an equivalent approved program. ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen is mandatory within one year of employment, while certification in OB/GYN or Breast is preferred.

Salary and Benefits
