Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to required specifications. This role will focus on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial, commercial, or domestic purposes.
  • Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
  • Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
  • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
  • Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Supervising or training project team members as necessary.
  • Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
  • Maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Working with a variety of technicians.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A PE (Professional Engineer) certification is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering industry, specifically within electrical design.
  • Proficiency in design, electrical design, and blueprint reading.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, power systems, and circuit analysis.
  • Exceptional understanding of electrical engineering basics and principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electrical engineering software.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
