Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Nursing (Resident Services Director) in managing nursing services. Together with the Director of Nursing, the Resident Service Designee oversees, organizes, and coordinates the activities of professional nursing and support staff in delivering resident care.
  • Communicates policies and regulations to all nursing staff and ensures adherence.
  • Evaluates and assesses nursing and related services provided to guarantee the quality of resident care.
  • The Resident Service Designee, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, is responsible for supervising the healthcare service needs of residents, including the overall medication management system and the coordination of training for the Resident Care Services Department.
  • The Resident Service Designee plays a vital role in enhancing the team approach to quality resident care by addressing and assisting with various physical, emotional, and social needs to support residents in achieving their highest level of independence.

Qualifications/Experience/Certification

  • Must be a Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in New Jersey, with at least one year of experience in assisted living or home care.
  • A strong desire to work with seniors is preferred.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as pushing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with residents, their families, colleagues, and other staff members.
  • Must be in good physical and emotional health and free from communicable diseases.

Maplewood Senior Living conducts pre-employment screenings, including background checks, drug tests, and reference evaluations.

In compliance with Department of Public Health regulations, all candidates must provide valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (1st dose, 2nd dose, and booster) prior to starting work, unless an approved exemption is obtained. Failure to achieve full vaccination and booster within the specified timeframe, without an approved exemption, will result in termination.
