Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate high-tech medical equipment used in the diagnosis of many diseases and injuries.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and perform certain non-imaging studies as necessary.
  • Assist with radiotherapy procedures and perform quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual procedures on instrumentation such as dose calibrators, scintillation well counters, and thyroid probes.
  • Identify, document, and report sub-optimum results to supervisor.
  • Adhere to Department of Health, TJC, and department regulations governing performance of procedures.
  • Maintain required record keeping and documentation for all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS.
  • Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
  • Process billing via RIS.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine or graduate of a two-year accredited school in an allied health program.
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T(N) (ARRT), in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Current state licensure (RL).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
