The Center for Urban Community SVC is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our Intensive Mobile Treatment Team. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health concerns, substance use, and homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Build relationships with program participants and their support networks to facilitate recovery and well-being.
- Assist consumers in navigating service systems, including behavioral and medical health, criminal justice, shelter, entitlements, and transportation.
- Practice recovery-oriented and trauma-informed service delivery principles.
- Contribute to a program culture that is person-centered, outcome-oriented, and committed to continuous quality improvement.
- Obtain certification as a Peer Specialist within 1 year of employment.
- Provisional or Professional Peer Specialist certification preferred.
- Lived experience with and ability to navigate service systems.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed service delivery principles.
- Ability to engage individuals around mental health, substance abuse, and/or criminal justice issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with familiarity with computers.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
