Ragan Communications is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to contribute to our financial operations. The successful candidate will be eager to develop their expertise and grow within the organization. Daily responsibilities will encompass month-end closing processes, cash management, accounts receivable and payable functions, payroll processing, and various special projects. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to finalize month-end financial close.
- Oversee our digital accounts payable system and manage payment processes.
- Administer vendor portals and handle invoicing in external systems.
- Execute semi-monthly payroll and related activities.
- Verify accounts payable transactions for precision and address discrepancies as needed.
- Assist the CFO and Accounting Manager in preparing monthly and quarterly internal financial reports.
- Support management during external audits.
- Evaluate current processes and recommend automation opportunities.
- Contribute to the transition to a new ERP system and other integration projects.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Proven experience in bank account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with US GAAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A willingness to embrace new challenges and learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to and master new systems.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Experience in payroll processing is advantageous.
