At Roswell Park Cancer Institute, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health Information Management Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Health Information Management Coordinator will be responsible for performing complex medical record audit functions, assisting with Health Information Management (HIM) applications testing, and implementing new or upgraded HIM systems. This role will also assist the HIM Management Team with auditing new clinical documentation initiatives and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the medical record.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform audits to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the medical record
  • Assist with monitoring compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, HIPAA requirements, and Roswell Park policies related to documentation processing and document retention
  • Assist with major initiatives involving the HIM Department
  • Implement record retention policy
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Health Information Management (HIM) program
  • Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time RPCI Health Information Management experience with knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Associates Degree in HIM
  • HIM experience
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Standards
  • EHR experience
