Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will assess and deliver specialized speech-language therapy to patients in their homes, under the supervision of a physician. The home environment may include various settings such as private residences, assisted living facilities, independent living communities, or memory care units.
Your role will involve evaluating and treating individuals with communication disorders, swallowing difficulties, cognitive challenges, voice issues, and those in need of alternative communication methods. You may frequently work with patients recovering from strokes or managing progressive conditions like Parkinson's disease and dementia.
Qualifications
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Automobile liability insurance is necessary.
- Seat belts must be worn at all times while driving.
- Reliable transportation in good working order is essential.
- Ability to drive in various weather conditions is required.
- Current licensure as an SLP in the state of employment is mandatory.
