Key Responsibilities:

1. Specimen Management: Assist in the collection and processing of patient samples, ensuring proper identification and integrity of specimens. This includes:
- Accurate specimen collection
- General laboratory processing
- Referral laboratory coordination

2. Testing Support: Under the guidance of senior technical staff, perform basic testing while adhering to established performance standards. Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory computer systems and maintain oversight of specimen tracking.

3. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed with precision and within the designated timeframes. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting quality control checks
- Reporting any discrepancies in procedures
- Maintaining acceptable specimen rejection rates

4. Resource Management: Contribute to departmental efficiency by managing supplies and participating in inventory oversight. Engage in initiatives aimed at cost reduction and service enhancement.

5. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, fostering a positive team environment.


Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old for certain responsibilities.
- Progression through career levels is contingent upon meeting specific requirements.
- Valid state driver's license may be required based on location.
- Certification in Phlebotomy or Clinical Laboratory Assistant as per state regulations is preferred.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Completion of a laboratory assistant training program.
- Familiarity with specimen handling and medical terminology.
