Cooke County Texas is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and enforcing laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol county roadways and respond to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Perform traffic enforcement duties, issue warning tickets and citations as necessary, and direct traffic.
- Respond to traffic accidents, perform DWI enforcement, and complete offense and incident reports.
- Execute warrants and non-warrant arrests, investigate and protect crime scenes, and obtain latent prints.
- Serve civil process documents, conduct civil standby attendance, and respond to animal control calls.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Peace Officer or in a related field required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days.
- Certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Texas mandatory.
- Must never have been convicted of any Family Violence Offense.
The Deputy Sheriff will work in a fast-paced environment, often in hostile and non-hostile environments and situations. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of physical fitness is essential.
