We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Penn State Health. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and cardiac surgery, with a strong ability to manage high-acuity patients and prioritize care based on each patient's needs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate overnight care in the ICU for Cardiac Thoracic post-surgery patients
- Provide high-quality patient care, including chest tube placement, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
- Manage central lines, A-lines, Swans, IABP, CRRT, and ventilators
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
- National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
- Minimum two (2) years in Critical Care managing Cardiac Surgery patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ICU critical care experience
- Two (2) years experience as a physician assistant
