Our Unit's Strengths
- We have 33 beds, including one negative pressure room and two single rooms for patients who require private care.
- Our average census is between 29-32 patients, allowing us to provide individualized attention and care.
- We utilize video monitoring systems to ensure the safety and security of our patients.
- We have the capability to accept patients who require telemetry monitoring.

Scope of Work
The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will utilize the nursing process to provide professional nursing care to patients on the 5 South Medical Unit. This will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader and in accordance with Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Partner with patients and their families to develop individualized care plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
- Document patient education and learning in the health record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within 5 years.
- Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
- American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
