**About the Role**

Lumber Mart, Inc. is a leading provider of lumber and building materials, seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Yard/Warehouse Associate. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our yard and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments of lumber and building materials.
  • Assist customers in loading and unloading materials, providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the yard and warehouse, ensuring materials are easily accessible and properly labeled.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and store materials safely.
  • Cut lumber and other materials to specific lengths using saws or other tools as needed.
  • Keep the yard and warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping, disposing of debris, and maintaining safety protocols.
  • Assist with assembling and preparing orders for delivery to customers and construction sites.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or lumber yard environment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure and cut materials.
  • Experience operating forklifts or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Forklift certification or experience operating other heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Experience with basic carpentry or construction tasks.
