Job Title

**Cosmetology Instructor**

The Cosmetology Instructor will provide training in industry-related theory, hair design, haircutting, coloring, and other related topics to students at the Arkansas College Management Co. The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to teach classes, and perform demonstrations in Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Manicuring.

Responsibilities:

  • Presents all materials designated to be taught in theory classes
  • Supervises and evaluates student classroom, practical, and clinic floor work
  • Maintains accurate records of student attendance, class participation, and testing
  • Arranges for guest speakers when appropriate
  • Maintains supplies of student handouts and testing material
  • Reports test grades on proper form to the office for recording on permanent record
  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
  • Checks student appearance daily ensuring student uniform compliance
  • Instructs students on proper sanitation methods and oversees sanitation efforts throughout the day
  • Classroom management; ensures student compliance with school rules and regulations
  • Enacts disciplinary actions in accordance with the school's outlined disciplinary procedures

Requirements:

  • Current Arkansas Cosmetology or Barber License
  • Current Arkansas Teacher Training License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years' experience as a licensed practitioner | desired
  • At least one (1) year experience as a classroom instructor | preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
