About the Role:

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a dedicated and motivated Surgical Instrument Technician to join our Shelter Surgery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of surgical instruments used in veterinary procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and organize surgical instruments following established protocols and best practices.
  • Operate sterilization equipment to ensure all instruments are thoroughly sterilized according to safety standards.
  • Properly wrap and pack surgical instruments for storage or immediate use, ensuring they remain sterile until needed.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of surgical instruments and supplies, reporting any shortages or damaged items.
  • Conduct regular inspections of instruments and sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Previous experience in a veterinary or medical environment preferred
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of sterilization processes and infection control practices
  • Must execute attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
