Position Summary:

As a Sanitation Specialist at Versova Inc, you will be responsible for executing general operational and downtime sanitation tasks within our processing facilities. Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and the production of safe, high-quality products. You will perform all duties safely, efficiently, and effectively, supporting the daily achievement of production targets by maintaining the proper functionality of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily and downtime sanitation, including the timely dismantling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly of equipment.
  • Monitor and ensure cleaning chemical concentrations meet specified standards.
  • Utilize approved sanitizing agents to effectively and safely clean designated areas.
  • Transport waste materials to designated disposal locations.
  • Employ high-pressure and high-volume water hoses for surface cleaning.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Maintain a safe working environment by wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) as instructed.
  • Foster open communication and collaborative relationships with team members.
  • Promptly report issues and significant information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Comply with company policies and uphold core values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in plant quality, food safety, or sanitation preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and sanitation practices is preferred.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer.
  • Observe all safety and security protocols; report any potentially unsafe conditions; utilize equipment and materials appropriately.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and the employer's safety policies; must not pose a direct threat to the safety or health of oneself or others.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, teamwork orientation, and moral character.
  • Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.
  • Experience with safety equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE is advantageous.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required based on production demands.
  • Capability to intermittently lift up to 50 lbs.
