Responsibilities
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Utilize computer applications to manage patient records and schedules
    • Answer telephones and greet patients
    • Update and file patient medical records
    • Code and fill out insurance forms
    • Schedule appointments and arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services
    • Handle correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping
  • Clinical Duties:
    • Take medical histories and prepare patients for examination
    • Assist physicians during exams and procedures
    • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
    • Perform basic laboratory tests
    • Draw blood and take electrocardiograms
Requirements
  • High school diploma required
  • 0-3 years of related experience preferred
  • American Association of Medical Assistants certification or Registered Medical Assistant credentialing preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required
Working Conditions

This role requires extended standing or walking, and the ability to lift or move objects weighing 51-100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. The job function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures.
