Infection Prevention Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled RN Infection Preventionist to join our team at Riverside Health System. As a key member of our infection prevention team, you will be responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment for appropriate infection prevention practices, collecting and analyzing data, and conducting education related to infection prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex infection-related surveillance and statistical data analysis.
- Demonstrate the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
- Develop or assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Infection Prevention Plan.
- Conduct infection prevention audits and rounding, providing feedback and guidance to leaders regarding infection prevention issues.
- Conduct outbreak investigations, identify exposures, and collaborate with Employee Health.
- Report infection prevention findings and data to appropriate committees.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines and standards and regulatory standards (CMS, DNV-GL, OSHA, etc.) when assessing the environment, observing patient care activities and processes, developing policy and procedure, and educating staff and physicians across the continuum.
- Demonstrate initiative in professional development and continuing education, assisting in the professional development of other Infection Preventionists through guidance and teaching.
- Collaborate with all team members and the System Director of Infection Prevention to identify educational needs and plan educational programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, Nursing (Required)
- Masters Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
- 5-6 years Clinical nursing experience (Required)
- 1 year Infection Prevention experience (Required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State Department of Health Professions Upon Hire (Required)
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from CBIC Upon Hire (Preferred)
